Into the Fold An Asian woman collapses at the roadside during the height of war fears in 1942. Is she an escapee from one of the local prisoner-of-war facilities, or worse, an infiltrator? She doesn’t understand Japanese or any Asian language spoken to her. Her clothes are of an odd material and cut, her bloodwork is off in ways they can’t identify, and her eyes have nictitating membranes. OSS agent Denton Franklin has to determine if she’s faking her amnesia or, as suspected by an FBI psychiatrist, in a fugue state. Or, maybe she is from a place further away than Asia. |
