For those of you who purchase or borrow my books electronically, you may not know the genius of the cover art.

The cover art for each of my novels is created by Marc R. Thompson. As you might surmise, he is my son and has graciously–most of the time–provided the cover art for my novels. I came up with a concept for the first one and he expanded it quite a bit. It is more simple than the other two but I love that simplicity.

Familiar Moon Cover

Familiar Moon was supposed to be a ‘one of’ novel. I had no intentions of writing a trilogy. As any author knows, the characters sometimes have more to say.

I sort of suggested a design but my son took over, thank goodness. I wanted the cover to reflect the duality of the Joined personality. However, this was a simple story, simply told, which is also reflected in the simplicity of the cover. Of course, the focus is the moon.

The cover for Familiar Earth is much more intense, which reflects the growing intensity of the story.

You will notice the basic design is the reciprocal of the cover on Familiar Moon. I am not certain if the characters on the front are Olive and Jeremy or Olive and Khunger.

The cover for Familiar Mars completes the two openings just as I hope the third book brings the story to completion.
